Where does ESG come from?

The ESG principles are based on the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations (UN). These development goals are also known as the SDGs and were devised by the United Nations to fight poverty, safeguard economic growth and take proper care of the climate.

ESG factors can be linked to the SDGs at company level.
The 17 SDGs have been converted into 10 ESG principles that offer guidelines to businesses with regard to what they need to act on to develop an ESG strategy.

Algeco Netherlands receives the EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating

This places us in the top 1% of companies worldwide, we are very pleased to share the results. 

Algeco Netherlands has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating. Following an extensive assessment of our performance in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, we are recognised among the global leaders in sustainability.

With this Platinum recognition and a total score of 86 out of 100, Algeco Netherlands ranks in the top 1% of more than 100,000 companies worldwide, spanning 175+ countries and 200+ sectors assessed annually by EcoVadis.
